Bring your maps into alignment.
Different datasets. The same real-world features. MapMend helps reconcile their positions so your spatial data fits together more clearly.
Explore how corresponding map features come together.
Road networks: bring offset centerlines into agreement with reference mapping.
01 / What
MapMend is iGeoIgnite’s toolkit for spatial alignment and conflation. It helps mapping teams bring corresponding features from different datasets into agreement with a chosen reference.
Maps of the same area can differ because they were captured at different times, scales, or levels of accuracy. MapMend addresses the positional differences that make those datasets difficult to use together.
Adjust where features sit so they better match reference geometry. Think of a road line that needs to follow a more accurate map of the same road.
Identify corresponding features across datasets and reconcile their representations. Matching the right features gives alignment its context.
02 / Why
An offset line or a mismatched feature can make otherwise useful data difficult to compare. MapMend helps teams address these differences through a structured alignment workflow.
Bring legacy mapping closer to a chosen reference so teams can compare the same features more clearly.
Use matching and transformation tools to support alignment work that would otherwise involve repeated individual edits.
Compare adjusted geometry with the reference and investigate features that still need attention before using the result.
A familiar situation: Your existing road or parcel mapping does not line up with a newer reference. MapMend supports the work of matching corresponding features and adjusting their geometry toward that reference.
03 / How
A clear sequence connects your input data, the reference you trust, and the checks needed to assess the result.
Identify the data to adjust, choose the reference, and agree on the area and features in scope.
Establish which source and reference features represent the same locations or objects.
Apply alignment and conflation tools to reposition source features using those correspondences.
Compare the adjusted data against the reference, resolve exceptions, and confirm it meets the project’s needs.
The quality of the reference and the feature matches matters. Review is part of the workflow before the aligned data moves into use.
